"The Oars", 2008, Oil and acrylic on canvas

September 4th - November 2nd 2008
Opening: September 4th 2008, 7 p.m.

We are pleased to show you at the beginning of the new season paintings of the Norwegian artist Ingvild Moe-Behrens. It is a cycle of six large figurative paintings, completed in summer 2008.

The figures are not meant to be depictions of individuals. The paintings try to explore how the figure can assert itself in an abstract two-dimensional space, especially a space of bold, solid colors. The interpretations are open to the observers.

A central element of Ingvild Moe-Behren's artistic conception is not to reveal any personal information. Her work is supposed to explain itself. The painter explicitly wants to have written about her person only: "Ingvild Moe Behrens lives and works in Berlin."

In New York we saw for the first time 2002 paintings of Ingvild Moe-Behrens, which impressed us profoundly. Now we are happy to present you this remarkable artist.

Due to the artist's concept, there will be no interaction this time.
